Each tile is a faithful physical replica of a real place — carved from NASA elevation data, 3D-printed to 0.1 mm precision, and mounted on a solid wood base.
how it's made
From satellite to shelf.
Every cosmoform tile follows the same precise journey — from raw orbital data to the object in your hands.
Satellite data
We source elevation data from NASA's SRTM and Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter missions — the same datasets used by researchers and space agencies worldwide. Resolution down to 30 m per pixel.
3D processing
Raw elevation grids are cleaned, resampled, and sculpted into printable meshes. Vertical exaggeration is tuned per-region so every feature reads clearly at tile scale.
Precision printing
Printed on FDM machines with 0.1 mm layer height in PLA+. Each tile takes 6–18 hours. We inspect every print before it moves to finishing.
Wood backing
Each tile is bonded to a solid oak or walnut base — 8 mm thick, sustainably sourced. The wood is sanded to 320 grit and finished with natural oil to last decades.
Quality check
Final inspection against the source elevation data. We look for print artefacts, delamination, and surface defects before packaging. Imperfect prints don't ship.
